Day 1: Depart from your home country. flying to O.R. Tambo Johannesburg (JNB), South Africa

Day 2: Welcome to South Africa! Arrive in Johannesburg and transfers

Today your plane will descend into the city of Johannesburg, arriving at O.R. Tambo International Airport but you will stay only briefly here.

We will organise a free of charge comfort shuttle transfer from O.R.Tambo airport, departing at 11.30am to Hazyview. The transfer takes approximately 4 1/2 hours, but when you arrive we will be waiting to whisk you away on safari. After a short game drive into Kruger and a relaxing sundowner you arrive at your first rest camp in the bush. Refresh with a shower and an evening braai and relax around the fire. Sleep well listening to the sounds of the night.

Included – Accommodation, Shuttle transfer, park entry fees, game drive, sundowners & evening meal.

Please note – If you prefer to take an extra flight instead of the Shuttle transfer, you can book an internal flight to Skukuza or Hoedspruit,Eastgate Airport where we can also whisk you away on safari into the world- famous Kruger National Park. 

Day 3: Spend a Full Day on Safari in the park.

An early rise, with the smell of coffee, to search for members of the continent’s Big Five were we will hopefully have the opportunity to marvel at the power of a lion or hyenas sulking back to their hides from a night of scavenging/hunting. Rhino, cheetah, leopard and wild dog are among the more difficult and coveted sightings, with a number of guests viewing at least some of these magical species. Before back to the camp for a late breakfast.

After breakfast we return to the bush to view the behaviour of elephants, grazing giraffe, herds of buffalo and the numerous antelopes that inhabit the park.  Early afternoon is a time to relax and enjoy the climate of South Africa in the swimming pool or simply relax before leaving the camp late afternoon for a game drive in the predators hour (the hour before sunset)

Day 4: Full Day on Safari in the park

Again, you will rise early in order to explore the bush while it is at its most active. Fueled with coffee and biscuits we resume your search for extra special sightings. Before back to the camp for a late breakfast.  After breakfast we return to the bush to view the behaviour of elephants, grazing giraffe, herds of buffalo and the numerous antelopes that inhabit the park.  Early afternoon is a time to relax and enjoy the climate of South Africa in the swimming pool or simply relax before leaving the camp late afternoon for a game drive in the predators hour (the hour before sunset)

Day 5: Off to Mozambique

An early rise for the best part of the day! Leaving our rest camp and having a morning drive to the south eastern border of Kruger. There we will cross the border into Mozambique and make our way down to the Indian Ocean.

Included – Chalet (2 sharing), Game drive (hot drinks and chilled water), breakfast & evening meal.

Not Included – Visa entry fee for Mozambique, circa $50 for internationals

Day 6: Day at the Indian Ocean

Your beach holiday starts here. Relax on the golden sands of the Indian ocean or try out a few of the activities this area has to offer, one can swim with wild dolphins, dive down to reefs from 12 meters to 50 meters packed with amazing sea life, nature walks, kayaking or kite surfing

Days 7 & 8: Relax or Activities

Relax on the beach or enjoy some kite surfing, scuba diving or sea kayaking. Recommended optional tour (entry fee not included) – A trip to the Dolphin Encounters Research Center. Since 1995, Angie Gullan has been sharing the magical wonder of coming face to face with the wild dolphins, pioneering the way in ethical, educational, and responsible practice for tours with these sentient non-human persons whom she calls the “people of the sea”.

Day 9: Return to Kruger NP

After breakfast we will depart the Indian Ocean and make our way back to South Africa and Kruger National Park.

Arriving there early afternoon we will enjoy another game drive to our rest camp. There will be time to relax before the evening meal and afterwards a night safari to see the nocturnal animals such as lion, leopard, hyena, genet and civet.

Day 10: Safari and Endangered Species Centre

This morning you will be awoken by your final wakeup call in the bush and one last game drive. Following a now familiar routine of coffee and biscuits, we will depart to seek out a few final wildlife encounters before exiting the park, late morning, and visiting Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre.

The centre plays a central role in protecting rare and endangered species, placing particular emphasis on cheetah breeding, rehabilitation and protection. Conservation education is a central pillar of the organisation’s work, and guides will take you through this special centre providing insight into their work, challenges and accomplishments.

In late the afternoon, we will drive to your bush house, nestled in a private reserve with plains game and birdlife for the next two evenings.

Day 11: Moholoholo and Tshukudu Game Reserve

This morning, following a delightful breakfast, it’s off to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. This centre is a critical home for abandoned and abused wildlife in South Africa, and plays a central role in species rehabilitation. Moholoholo is one of the few places that have successfully bred servals and released them into regions where they were formerly extinct. They are also the only facility to have bred the Crown Eagle in the entirety of South Africa. During the tour you will be permitted to interact with some of the species they are not able to reintroduce to the wild, and pose questions about the process for those that will be reintegrated.

In the afternoon, it is off on a game drive to Tshukudu Game Reserve for an early evening in open 4×4 game drive. This private reserve is known for its close encounters with a vast variety of game including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino).  In addition, all game drives on the reserve coordinate their game viewing activities which ensure the best of sightings. Halfway through the early evening game drive there’s a stop for sundowners and snacks.

Day 12:  Bush walk & Johannesburg

Early morning breakfast is followed by a bush walk around the reserve, stopping off at a bird hide with a view of the Drakensburg mountains.   Sadly the comfort shuttle transfer departs at 11.15am to O.R. Tambo airport, Johannesburg.

Please note – If you prefer to take a flight instead of the Shuttle transfer, you can book an internal flight from Hoedspruit,Eastgate Airport to O.R Tambo Johannesburg, flights normally take off around midday – 1pm, we will provide a drop off at Eastgate Airport, free of charge.
